OK Health Media Center 

The OK Health program began as a pilot program in June 2003 in coorperation with the Employees Benefits Council, OK Department of Human Services, and the State Department of Health Chronic Disease Services.  Due to the success of the pilot, the Employees Benefits Council will offer the pogram to all active state employees in January 2006.

Follow the progress of four state employees and listen and watch their recorded transitions as they go through the OK Health pilot program and achieve real results with the help of their mentors.

SUCCESSES FROM THE OK HEALTH PILOT PROGRAM

From June 2003 through August of 2005, 1,375 OKDHS employees' completed an online Cardiovascular Risk Assessment

The numbers tell the success of OKDHS employees' completing one year in the program:

  • decreased total cholesterol by 31 mg/dl
  • decreased LDL by 37 mg/dl
  • increased HDL by 4mg/dl
  • decreased blood sugar by 21mg/dl
  • decreased Triglycerides by 33 mg/dl
  • lost over 12.2 pounds

We reduced medical claims cost by 31%!
